Orange and Blue Agate Slab an Abstract in Oil on 20x16x1 canvas

Color Abstract described by the artist as Orange and Blue Agate Slab. An Abstract is really about what you see when you look at it. But, I used a beautiful Agate Slab from my grandmothers Lapidary store as a guide. Many people are using a new "pour" method to create this look, but, this is actually painted with a brush and a knife with fine oil paints. I hate to say it but it's AWESOME! Anyone who love rocks, crystals or any kind of Geodes will love this beautiful painting. Rocks and Crystals have healing powers and to me these Agate paintings have visual healing powers...and they make you feel good when you look at them.

Loved painting this Abstract it felt so great to just let go and let the painting be what it wanted to be even though I used an actual Agate Slab as my inspiration. With this particular painting I used a great deal of linseed oil to give the color oils a real shine so it was hard to photograph as the light reflects. The photo doesn't really do it justice. It's really beautiful and definitely a one of a kind painting that will never be repeated. Painted in an oil medium with both a brush and a knife giving an awesome affect and a ruff surface. Painted in 2018 on a 16x20x1 back stapled canvas with finished edges.
